FULL MOUTH CONCEPTS

ALL ON 6 DENTAL IMPLANTS

All On 6 and All On 8 dental implants consists of a fixed bridge supported by 6 or 8 dental implants placed in a single jaw evenly. In Implant Dentistry, distribution of the chewing forces evenly to the implants is important for a longer lasting smile and comfort. In these full mouth implant concepts, each implant is exposed to less amount of occlusal stress caused by chewing compared to all-on-4 concept.

The prosthetics options for All On 6 and All On 8 implants are more diverse than for All On 4 implants. Because of the short distances between each dental implant on an arch, it is safe to use aesthetic materials such as Porcelain – Zirconia bridge.

All On 6 and All On 8 procedures require two visits with at least 3 months healing period between each visit. If your jawbone requires advanced implant procedures such as sinus lifting, vertical bone grafting or split osteotomy, the healing period can be longer. We provide temporary dentures to all our full mouth dental implant patients at no extra cost for the healing period.

ADVANTAGES OF ALL ON 6 AND 8 IMPLANTS

  • Fixed prosthetics for edentulous jaws.
  • Even spread of the chewing forces.
  • Aesthetic Prosthetic Options.
  • Feels close to the natural teeth.
  • Prevents bone loss of edentulous jaws.
  • Long term solution.

HOW TO LOOK AFTER ALL ON 6 AND ALL ON 8 IMPLANTS?

Dental implants that support the bridgework requires good oral hygiene to last for a lifetime. Tooth brushing itself may not be very effective to clean under the implants. In addition to brushing twice a day, water-floss devices are very useful to clean underneath the bridge. We recommend our dental implant patients to use a water-floss device with implant tip to clean under their prosthetics.

TREATMENT DURATIONS

1st Visit for All On Six and Eight Dental Implants

Upon arrival to our clinic, our dentists will perform a clinical and radiographic examination of your mouth before starting the procedure. The main surgery of implant placements is performed during the first visit. When both upper and lower jaws are getting the implants, we complete the surgeries of each jaw on two separate days with 1 or 2 days of intervals. Our dentists take impressions of the mouth after each surgery in order to provide temporary dentures on the same day or the next day of the surgery. Ideally, we ask our patients to stay for 8 days in order to perform last checks before they go back to their country. When patients have limited time, we can reduce the treatment duration to 4 days, which can be risky since we will not be able to perform any last checks before going back to their home country.

Waiting Period

We leave the implants for healing process for at least 3 months after the 1st visit. The temporary denture may become ill-fitting during healing period as jaw bone and gums are reshaping. It is important to clean under the temporary denture at this stage to prevent any infection.

2nd Visit for All On Six and Eight Dental Implants

The second visit does not involve any surgical procedure. Our dentists replace the abutments or ti-base with better fitting ones where necessary and take impressions of the jaws to be transferred to our in-house dental laboratory. After the impressions on the first appointment, we will have additional 2 or 3 appointments within 5 days to check fitting and aesthetics at different stages of the permanent bridge preparation.
